Ballance Racing Engines

Ballance Racing Engines builds high performance, naturally aspirated and nitrous injected drag racing engines.  Mark Ballance got his start building engines for his father's racing team about 12 years ago.  In the early years, the building and assembly of his family's racing engines was his passion along with the pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Along the way, Mark has performed research and development on 500ci GM-DRCE2 engines for NHRA Pro Stock racer Mark Pawuk.  While working for Pawuk, Mark CAD designed and developed many head bolt patterns for the 4.900 Bore center DRCE2 engines in conjunction with GM-Racing's engineers.  From 1995 to 1999 most of the projects included the maintenance and development of two 615 cubic inch nitrous engines for Ballance Racing.  In 1999, Mark took on the project of building a 785+ cubic inch engine with 5.000 bore center heads and block.  Like Mark's other projects, the end result was a potent 1400+ NA horsepower engine capable of 2200 hp with 3 stages of nitrous oxide.  With an expanding clientele, Ballance Racing Engines has provided engine services for Tom & Linda Jacobsen (632 Big Chief) and Bonnie & Leroy Philson (665 Olds).  Ballance Racing Engines has also provided flow bench time for Dave Butner (Mopar Hemi- Motown Missile prostock).  Additional services include: engine rebuilding, assembly, R&D, cylinder head flow testing (Superflow 600 CFM), Nitrous plumbing and wet flow bench testing.
